What kind of Social Media Marketing does your Business needs?

The most popular social media sites are:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • LinkedIn
  • Google Plus (Google+)
  • Tumblr
  • Flickr
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Vimeo

You don’t have to join all of these social media sites for your business.  It depends on what kind of social media marketing your business needs. 

For instance, if you are a Realtor, then Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Google+ Business Page are good ways to promote your real estate business online.  Home buyers tend to be visual people. They like to look at photos and videos of homes online before they make an appointment with a Realtor.

Also, when I was selling my crafts online, I noticed that many artists, crafters, and designers tend to join almost every social media site. I would say that Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Flickr, and Instagram are the most popular social media sites for artists, crafters, and designers.  Customers like to see the photos of their artwork before purchasing. Also, they want to get to know the artist/crafter/designer better and understand more about their work.  This is where blogging comes in - this is the main reason why most artists, crafters, and designers have a blog as well.

Think about what kind of social media marketing your business needs.  If you are not sure what your business needs, then do a bit of research and see which social media sites are popular in your job field.
